Housing Counseling Program
As a US department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) approved counseling agency, Consumer Credit Counseling Service assists consumers with problems with basic shelter, home buying, foreclosure, renting and owning a home.
Our certified specialists can provide general or specific advice if you are having difficulty keeping up on your rent or mortgage payments. Housing Counseling includes, but is not limited to: providing consumers with assistance regarding available housing programs, possible relief measures for delinquent or default mortgage payments, deeds-in-lieu of foreclosure, housing assignments, and forbearance agreements.
Affordable housing and mortgage programs are designed to help potential home buyers and those having difficulty making payments.
Debt Management Program
A Debt Management Program (DMP) is an alternative to filing personal bankruptcy, and a solution for people who are over-extended with debt.
Our credit counselors help negotiate with clients and creditors to establish a realistic, monthly repayment plan. Clients pay a certain amount into the deposit account based on their indebtedness. Funds are disbursed from the account on a fair and equitable basis to all the client’s unsecured creditors.
Each situation is different, but our goal is to get clients fully out-of-debt and solvent within 1-3 years.
Senior Care & Retirement Budgeting
For those looking to retire in the next 3-7 years, budgeting and financial planning is critical when it comes to senior community options.
According to seniorchecklist.com, the average price for senior care in the US ranges is between $4,500 and $8,850 per month (depending on the facility, location, and senior care type). And for the high-end communities there’s an entrance fee requirement of $200,000 or more.
